Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Robert Ray Henderson, age 74 of Estill Springs. Mr. Henderson passed away October 11, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Marion County, AL, he made his home in Franklin County for more than 30 years. He worked as a carpenter and built a number of houses and also worked in strip mining. In later years he worked as a machinist at Universal Technologies, Inc. in Estill Springs. He loved hunting, camping, fishing and everything outdoors including raising his laying hens. He will be remembered by friends, family, co-workers and all who knew him for his mischievous sense of humor. He loved to jokingly pick at those he loved most. He was a very kind and generous man who loved animals and fed and cared for every stray animal that was fortunate enough to find him. Mr. Henderson is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Anthony Henderson; grandson, Nathan Braxton Hill; father, Henry Oxley Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing, his loving wife of 40 years, Lanetta Ferguson Henderson of Estill Springs; his mother, Exie Lee Wates Henderson of Winfield, Alabama. He also leaves his daughters, Amy Michelle (Johnathon) Hill of McMinnville, Jennifer (Barry) Anderson of Tuscumbia. AL and Laura Ann Henderson of Chicago; son, Jesse Spear of Winfield, AL; sisters, Ann Ewing of Foley, AL., Rita Faye Henderson of Estill Springs and Anita K. (Scott) Cochran of Winfield, AL; brothers, Alvin (Trib) Henderson of Hubbertville, AL and Michael (Jackie) Henderson of Winfield, AL; grandchildren Lacey Hill, Isabella Anderson and Jace Anderson; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Watson-North funeral Home Wednesday October 14, 2020 between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday October 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home.
