Mr. Ray Mitchell, Jr. age 61 of Winchester passed from this life suddenly on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 20, 1958 to Ray Mitchell, Sr. and Betty Jo Cargile. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Cargile and his son, Raymond Neal Mitchell III. He was a 1977 graduate of Smyrna High School and furthered his studies to Middle Tennessee State University where he received a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA). Ray worked in the Investment business as a financial advisor for many years. He was the owner and operator of RNM Investments and also worked for Charles Schwab in Nashville, Tenn., New Orleans, Louisiana, Charlotte, N.C., Denver, CO., and Tallahassee, Florida and retired in 2010. After retirement, Ray and his wife relocated to Franklin County in 2014. Ray was a lover of all sports and enjoyed listening to punk music. He was a dedicated husband and father; and whole heartedly loved his wife and daughter. His family will remember him for his great amazing sense of humor. He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Kathleen Mitchell of Winchester; loving daughter, Caroline Mitchell of Tallahassee, Florida; sister, Margaret “Angie” (Perry) Freeman of Murfreesboro; step-son, Eric (Beth) Blank of Livonia, Michigan; three step-daughters, Melissa Blank and Celeste Wilkes (Bill Eastham) all of Livonia, Michigan and Elizabeth Wilkes of Rapid City, SD; step-grandson whom he loved very much, Jack William Eastham and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation, Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 5:00-8:00PM at Watson-North Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Watson-North Funeral Home beginning at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Elmore Torbert, officiating.
