Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Norman Lee Buckner, age 75 of Decherd. Norman was born to the late William T. Buckner and Edith Mae Foster Buckner on February 4, 1946. He departed this life Sunday May 30, 2021 at Elk River Healthcare in Winchester.
Norman was a 1966 graduate of Townsend High School. He worked at AEDC as a custodian until his health began to fail in 2009, at which time he retired. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting. In his retirement he loved watching sports, the Dallas Cowboys and the UT Vols in particular. He loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Henry Jack Buckner. He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing, his sisters, Pauline Walker, Helen (Clauzell) Dou, Willie Fay Wilson, Edith Kay (Ernest) Bynum, all of Cleveland, OH; brothers, Charles Buckner and Harry Wayne Buckner of Winchester, TN. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
The family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Jo Edna Wilson and Lawrence Kennerly for their many visits to Norman during their many years of friendship.
The family will receive friends Thursday June, 10, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Ministers Dwight Rowe and Carey Rowe officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.watsonnorth.com.
