Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mrs. Nell “Nellie” Perry Pearson, ago 100 of Gum Creek. Mrs. Perry passed away January 27, 2021. A native of Coffee County, she spent most of her adult life in Franklin County. After she raised her family, she worked at the Hat Factory in Winchester assembling hats. She was a member of Prarie Plains Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved to fish, raise flowers in her many flower gardens and “buck” dancing. Those closest to her will remember her as an amazing woman who had a 6th sense about her that told her when she was needed. Over the one hundred years of her life, she touched many and had a dramatic impact on the lives those around her. She was known to have never uttered a harsh word about anybody. Preceding her in death are her mother, Hester Sullivan Rhoads and her father, Frank Rhoads; step-mother, Roxie Rhoads; first husband, Charlie Louis Perry and her second husband, F. M Pearson. Also preceding her in death is a daughter, Brenda Janelle Stone; son Gary Clinton Perry; brothers, Dennis Rhoads, Willard Rhodes, Hullen Rhoads, Buford Rhoads and Riley Rhoads; granddaughter, Nikki Hill. She also leaves a daughter, Theresia (Wayne) Stevens of Bartow FL; sisters, Juanita Little of Estill Springs and Hilda Fowler of Hazel Green, AL; daughter-in-law/caregiver, Pat Perry; grandchildren, Raynee Hill, Ray Perry, Gary Wayne Perry, Chuck Perry, Michael Perry, Delayne Taylor, Sarah Stevens and Rachel Lucius; 17 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home Friday January 29, 2021 between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Barry Rhoads officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with friends serving as pallbearers.
