Marvin L. Fuqua age 63, of Winchester, passed from this life on October 7, 2020 following a brief illness. Marvin was a loving husband, brother and uncle. He was a man of integrity, loved his family and considered his friends as part of his family. He enjoyed life, football, golfing and knew all about some prime rib from Longhorn Steakhouse. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Vanderbilt Football and Baseball. Marvin was a 1975 graduate of Franklin County High School. He proudly served his country from 1975 until his retirement in 2003 with the Army National Guard. He retired as an E-5. He also retired from Carpenter’s Union. Marvin never met a stranger, always had a smile and made so many new friends during his years as a Security Officer. He had worked for Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester and was currently employed as a Security Officer with Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg. Marvin was a devoted Christian man. Every morning he had his daily devotion and gave thanks to the Lord for another day. He loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing scriptures and the goodness of Jesus daily on Facebook. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, his loving wife, Linda Smith Fuqua; sisters, Elizabeth Simmons, Doris Simmons, Jody Simmons, Alma Fuqua, all of Winchester; brothers, Willie (Pam Hendon) Fuqua, Michael (Estella) Fuqua and Pete Fuqua both of Winchester; sister in laws, Wilma Fuqua, Gloria (Isaiah) Jones also of Winchester; brother in law, Douglas (Sequita) Smith; uncle, James (Dora) Simmons of Ohio; aunt, Arwillie Fuqua of Winchester and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Alma Fuqua; brothers, Mark Fuqua, James Fuqua; sisters, Mary Fuqua and Margaret Fuqua Brown. The family will receive friends on Saturday October 17, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The funeral will start at 1:00 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Security Officers with Jack Daniel’s Distillery will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. A guest register will be placed outside the funeral home for those wishing to sign but not enter the funeral home. As a precautionary measure, the family request that mask be worn, and to social distance the best as possible during the visitation and funeral service.
