Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Lee Blanton, age 85 of Winchester. Mr. Blanton passed from this life on December 29, 2020 while surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted Christian who enjoyed playing guitar and singing Gospel music. He had a love building and was very talented with his skills. He would build anything from birdhouses to additions on the house. Mr. Blanton had a love hate relationship with raising chickens and you could possibly find baby peeps in the house at any given time. Most of all he will be remembered for his love for the Lord and his deep rooted Pentecostal faith. Mr. Blanton was a man of integrity and meekness. He was a member of Our Father’s House in Cowan. He leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing, his devoted wife of 42 years, Shelia Brannon Blanton; daughters, Annette (John) Pierce, Melissa Blanton, Paula Blanton all of Plant City, FL., Melinda (Tim) Schwartz of Mulberry, FL., Carol Sue Blanton of Franklin Furnace OH., Kathy Blanton of Waterfield, ME.; sons, Jody (Missy) Blanton of Manchester, TN., William (Deborah) Blanton of Harlan, KY., Silas Blanton of Plant City FL., Douglas (Debra) Blanton of Sydney, FL.; brothers, Burley Blanton of Barbourville, KY, Grant (Velvie) Blanton of Stoney Fork, KY. Mr. Blanton is preceded in death by his parents, Gorman and Lettie Blanton; son, Ernest Blanton; sisters, Bulia Thompson, Ethel Saylor; brothers, Callaway and George Blanton. Visitation will be on Sunday Jan. 3, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Watson-North Funeral Home on Monday Jan. 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Roy Chaney, Bro. Jinks Partin and Bro. Buck Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park with pallbearers served by friends and family.
