Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of John Milton Peck, age 88, of Decherd. Mr. Peck passed from this life on September 3, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Clarington, Arkansas but made his home in Tennessee many years ago. He grew up in a tough part of town, surrounded by rice fields, but later became a sharp minded businessman. He owned multiple businesses including, Monteagle Motel and Restaurant, Firestone and Peck Auto. After buying and selling homes for many years, he retired in 1998. He was also a Veteran in the United States Army. Mr. Peck will be remembered by his caring nature, his love for his family and for all of the wise business decisions he made in life. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories his sons, John C. (Pam) Peck of Winchester, Troy Stevens of Monteagle; daughters, Patty M. McNeil of Decherd, Jennifer (DK) Smiley of Chattanooga, Susan (Joe) Burke of Chattanooga; brother, Jerry Wayne Peck of Memphis. John Milton Peck had 4 grandchildren which were Leanne Peck (Donnie) Lankford, John Michael (Misty) Peck, Jeffery (Jill) McNeil, Jonathon McNeil, 4 great grandchildren Logan, Layla, Lindsi, Lexi and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Gilbert and Margarete Camp Peck; wife of 43 years, Susie Peck; twin sister, Mildred Peck, sister, Mary Louise Talley; brothers, Billy D. and Bobby L. Peck; daughter, Denise Hill; son, Sam Stevens; 1st wife, Dorothy Gamble (mother of John C. and Patty McNeal). The family will receive friends on Monday September 6, 2021 between the hours of 12-2:00 p.m. The funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home with Bro. John Michael Peck (grandson) and Bro. L.Z. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Watson-North Memorial Park.
