Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Jerry Wayne Yates, age 83 of Winchester. Mr. Yates passed from this life at his home December 31, 2021 while surrounded by his loving wife and family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Etta Belle Perry Yates and his father, John Marion Yates; step-mother, Mary Lou Phillips Yates; sister, Dorothy Clark; brothers, Harold Yates and Ray Isbell; sons-in-law, Frank King and Dennis Burns I; grandson, Dennis (Bubba) Burns II. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his wife of 62 years, Betty Ruth Smith Yates; daughters, Janice King, Cyndi (Richard) Tharpe, Angie Sharp and Shelia Yates; son, Johnny (Clara) Yates; grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Mosley, Kelli Yates, Duncan King and Kelsey King; great-grandchildren, Izzy Mosley and Zayden Mosley; step grandchildren, Lindsey Sharp, Jordan Sharp; step-great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Dooley, Liam Dooley, Jesslyn Sharp and Wyatt Sharp; sisters, Clara (Ben) Russell, Doris Buckley and Joyce (William) Morris, Grace (Jerry) Garner, Betty Jean Shavers, Jane (Sam) Brancefort; brothers, Walter Yates, William Pete Yates and Wendell Isbell; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home Sunday January 2, 2022 between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the Roy B. Watson chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday January 3, 2022 with Eddie Brady and Todd Coutta officiating.
