Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Ernest L. Vanzant, age 73 of Winchester. Mr. Vanzant passed from this life November 17, 2021 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. He worked for Carrier for 33 years until the plant closed in 2005. He loved people and never met a stranger as he was always on his front porch talking with friends and neighbors. He was also a very devout ‘Price Is Right’ fan and never missed a cowboy movie if he could help it. He was a very loving and giving man who was generous to a fault. His family will remember him as “just a good man”. Mr. Vanzant is preceded in death by his mother, Josie Hill Vanzant and his father, “S & M” Vanzant. Also preceding him in death is a sister, Odelle Vanzant and brothers, M.C. Vanzant, Floyd “Smiles” Vanzant, Thomas “Pete” Vanzant and Merrell Vanzant. He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing, his daughter, Wendy (Rick) Wooten of Tullahoma and his son, Ernest W. Vanzant of Winchester; twin sister, Jean Miller of Winchester and sister, Rosemary “Deuce” Winton of Winchester; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home Sunday November 28, 2021 between the hours of 2 and 3 p.m. The funeral service will commence at 3 p.m. in the Roy B.
