Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mrs. Dolores Luye, age 86 of Winchester. Mrs. Luye passed from this life on January 6, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Tullahoma. Dolores was born on December 11, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Harry and Navada Kramp. In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Tesluck and her two brothers, Harry Kramp and Donald Kramp. Her family describes her as being very strong-willed, outgoing, and confident. She never met a stranger and once you met her, you would never forget her. She was a two-time cancer survivor and recently battled and defeated COVID-19. Dolores was an ordained minister and a devoted member of Winchester First Baptist Church until her health began to decline. Dolores was a true servant of the Lord and held many positions in the church. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing in the church choir. She was a part of the women’s ministry and a member of the Winchester First Baptist floral arrangement ministry. In her younger days, she and her son “hitched-hiked” to places from Texas to Florida, and in between. She enjoyed writing poetry and was very diverse. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Dwyer of Winchester; two sons, Frank Slowinski and Robert (Donna) Luye of Shelbyville; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and her sister Donna Lee Golden of Scottsboro, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 11:00am-3:00pm at Watson-North Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00pm in the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Online condolences may be sent to www.watsonnorth.com.
