Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Claudie Ray Vann, age 70, of Huntland, TN. Mr. Vann passed from this life on September 9, 2021, after battling an extended illness. Mr. Vann was a 1970 graduate of Huntland School. He was a Veteran with the United States Army from 1971 through 1973. Following his military assignments, he worked in communications with TVA for over 30 years, before his retirement. Mr. Vann was an avid racing fan, loved fast cars, yard sales and enjoyed trading knives. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janice Owen Vann; daughters, Delia Vann of Lynchburg, Ivy Vann of Tullahoma, Lacy Vann of Tullahoma; step-sons, Chris (Misty) Brogdon of Belvidere, Jonathan (Bridgett) Forster of Huntland; brother, Alvie (Virginia) Vann of Huntland, Carlton (Carolyn) Vann of Huntland; sister, Betty (Joe) Dixon of Ardmore; granddaughter, Isabella Vann of Tullahoma; step-grandchildren, Jayden Brogdon, Jasmine (Ethan) Milstead, Emily Forster; step-great granddaughter, Juniper Milstead. Mr. Vann is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Emma McClure Vann; brothers, Oliver Vann, Doyle Vann; infant son, Gary Vann; sister, Ruth Mitchell. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Avalon Hospice for the tender care they offered to the family and Mr. Vann. They would also request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Multi County Cancer Society at MCCSN 501 W Broad St, Decherd, TN 37324. The family will receive friends on Friday September 17, 2021 between 5:00 -5:30 p.m., at Watson-North Funeral Home. The funeral service will start at 5:30 p.m., with military funeral honors.
