Charles Clayton Wiseman was born on April 2, 1928 to Jonathan Curtis Wiseman and Bonnie Stella Lewis Wiseman in Belvidere, TN. He passed from this life on August 18, 2021 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was 93 years old. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his loving wife Josephine Wiseman, his grandson, Robert Clayton “Clay” Wiseman, his second wife, Virginia Wiseman, his brother Joe Lewis Wiseman, seven brother-in-laws, two nephews, and a niece. He is survived by two sons, Charles Michael “Mike” (Alice) Wiseman, and David Clayton (Hilda) Wiseman, a stepson, Curtis Ray Wiseman, two sisters, Betty Ann Weddington and Shirley Holt, four sister-in-laws, Bonnie Wiseman, Patricia (Steve) Markis, Thelma Porter, Joan Short, four grandchildren, Robert David Lopez, Christina Sunae Wiseman, Clayton Jane Wiseman, and Joseph David Wiseman, five great grandchildren, Jenae Lopez, Alyssa Lopez, Ciana Lopez, Dante’ Clayton Ferrantelli, and Zoe Josephine Ferrantelli, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends. Charles lived in Winchester the majority of his life. He was a member of Winchester First Baptist Church. Charles was proud to have served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Arnold Engineering and Development Corporation (AEDC) and retired from there after 33 years of service. He was known as one of the founding fathers of Little League Baseball in Winchester. He was a great athlete and a musician. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball, umpiring, bowling, and playing in the community band when Winchester had one. To his grandchildren and great grandchildren he was known as “Papa” as well as many children that he and Virginia babysat after retirement from AEDC. Dad (Charles) lived the last several years of his life in Myrtle Beach, SC with Mike and Alice who were his primary caregivers, and they gave Dad excellent care. Thanks to our aunts and uncles who pitched in when needed. The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health Care/Hospice of Horry County, SC who gave our dad (Charles) excellent care. The funeral will be held at Watson North Funeral Home in Winchester, TN on Wednesday August 25, 2021 at 10 AM. Visitation will be on August 24, 2021 from 5-8PM. Charles will be laid to rest at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Thank you to everyone who remembered Dad in their prayers, those who have written letters to him, and called. Bless you all.
