Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Carlos F. Nichols, III, age 61 of Decherd. Mr. Nichols passed from this life on Sunday August 1, 2021. A native of Selma, AL, he and his family came to Franklin County in 1964. He was a 1979 graduate of Franklin County High School. He went on to continue his education at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Shelbyville. Mr. Nichols was employed as a machinist at AEDC and attended the Decherd Nazarene Church. Of his many hobbies and interests, his favorite was riding his dirt bike in the mountains. Mr. Nichols is preceded in death by his mother, Gracie Lee Tennant Wilson and his father, Carlos Franklin Nichols, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lori Neal Nichols; sons, Brandon Nichols of Decherd and Ryan Nichols of London, England. He also leaves his sister and brother-in-law, Regina and David Myers of Decherd; brother, Bryan Nichols of Justin, TX; brothers and sisters in law, Eric (Sharon) Neal of Smyrna, TN., Darrell (Candi) Neal of Fayetteville, TN; nieces and nephews, Charles Nichols, John (Stephanie) Nichols, Cody (Meher) Williams, Stephanie (Adam) Wilson, Joseph Neal, Ross Neal, Andy Neal, Addie Neal and Amie Neal. The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home Saturday August 7, 2021 between the hours of 11 am and 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home. Interment will be at Cowan-Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan with family members and friends serving as pallbearers.
