Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Richard Tate. Richard Tate Departed this life on Wednesday March 21st 2018 at Erlanger Health System Hospital in Chattanooga Tennessee. He was born on July 29th 1956 to the late Ben and Tiny Sisk Tate, in Huntland, Tennessee. He was the last of 14 children and is survived by two sisters Willie Mae Farris, Addie Belle Scott,and one brother Marshall Ray Tate, all of Cowan Tennessee; and a half brother Willie Montague (Birdie) of New Market Alabama. Richard quit school at an early age to begin working to help his parents and family. He was always a hard worker, sometimes having two or three jobs to provide for his family, including farming, being a mechanic and also factory work where he became an assembler at Carrier until he retired.He married the love of his life Arleen Hope Berry on August 18th 1984 whom he later separated from in 2007, but they remained close friends until his death. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior in December of 1996. Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles and attending races with his friends, going fishing, and being an active member of Beans Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters- the oldest Cheryl Bryson (Derrick Crawford) of Nashville Tennessee, and his baby girl Tiffany Tate (Jermaine Williams) of Decherd Tennessee. He had three grandchildren; one devoted grandson who stayed by his side until the end, Isaiah Richard Tate (his namesake) of Decherd and Zyonia and Zyon Bryson both of Nashville Tennessee; his devoted pet TJ, three close lifelong friends Robert Reed, Alvin Simpson, and Earstin Kinslow; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
