Pattie Sue Hinton was born March 15, 1926 to Burns and Della Mae Young of Decherd, TN. She passed away at her home on September 25, 2019 surrounded by family in Guntersville, AL, her home for the last 20 years. Pattie married her high school sweetheart, Harold Hinton, in 1947 and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. After he joined the Air Force, they traveled the world together. She was tough as nails and extremely efficient. She had perfected packing a home to move in two days! She was an avid birdwatcher and loved to work in her garden. She prided herself on a clean home and was never afraid to break out the good china when family came over for dinner. Pattie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a loyal member of the Boulevard Church of Christ and will be missed by so many. Pattie was preceded in death by her parents, Burns and Della Mae Young, her loving husband, Harold Thomas Hinton, her sisters, Lois Mason and Jo Hargraves, and her brother, Burns Young, Jr.
Pattie is survived by her two sons, Charles Phillip Hinton (Deborah Dorman Hinton) of Guntersville, AL and Thomas Glenn Hinton (Helen Henderson Hinton) of Ashville, NC, five grandchildren, Jon Cheney of Guntersville, AL, Rachael Hinton of Guntersville, AL, Frieda Werkmeister (Raymond Werkmeister) of Guntersville, AL, Halley Hundley (Shawn Hundley) of Franklin, NC, and Chelsea Kaminski (Matthew Kaminski) of Guntersville, AL, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
