Watson North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Joseph Henry Allgood, Sr. Mr. Joseph Henry “Joe” Allgood was born in Winchester, Tennessee, on March 22, 1936, to his loving parents – the late Henry Allgood and Ophelia Baker Allgood. Our loved one was called to rest on Thursday morning, April 25, 2019. He was a devoted father, brother, and friend whom God called to be with Him. Joe was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Winchester, Tennessee. His biggest source of joy was his family. He married Jessie Lee Moss, and into that union two children were born. He attended school in Franklin County and worked over 60 years as a welder and self-employed brick mason. Joe loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. He was always outside in his yard, working on cars or training dogs when he wasn’t out on the lake. To know him was to love him. As a result of his home going, he will forever be missed, yet not forgotten by his loving family.  He is survived by his daughter Janice Allgood Bright of Winchester, TN., son Joe Allgood, Jr. of Nashville, TN.; a sister Mary Allgood Nelson of Columbus, OH; a brother Oliver (Jennifer) Allgood of Kennesaw, GA.; two granddaughters: Tomeka Allgood of LaVergne, TN. and Terrilyn Allgood of Las Vegas, NV., two great-granddaughters: Tierra Allgood of Murfreesboro, TN. and Jadyn Allgood of LaVergne, TN.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30 from 12-1 pm with the funeral service following at 1 pm at Watson North Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.
