Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Ella Faye Kautz, age 89 of Decherd. Mrs. Kautz passed away at her home at Southern Manor on the morning of July 8, 2019. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bill Kautz; mother, Francis Ballard Carver and father, Otis W. Carver; sister, Vivian C. Marcum; brothers, Robert Willis Carver, Howard McDoyle Carver, Edward LeRoy Carver and Dennis Carver. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Lea Kautz and son William Timothy Kautz both of Kansas; several nieces and nephews. A native of East Tennessee, Mrs. Kautz worked at Pepsi in Knoxville, TN. and also served as secretary to the Bishop of the United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN. She was later employed with Peabody Tech Tank in Parsons, KS. In 1983 she accepted a transfer with the company to Winchester and served as the office manager until her retirement in 1996. She had been a member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church since 1983. Over the years, she served on various church committees and was a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School class, sang in the choir and was active in the Shalom and Wings of Hope ministries. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday July 10, 2019 at the Winchester First United Methodist Church. The funeral ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Steve Angus officiating. Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park.
