Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Dwayne Gray, better known as Lyni and Lyni Love, answered the call of his Master and entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 5. Lyni was born in Franklin County, Tennessee on July 13, 1967, to the late Vernita Jean Gray. Lyni was a graduate of Franklin County High School, Class of 1986. He was a football standout, a member of the 1985 District 8AAA Championship football team, and earned the distinguished award of being named the Defensive Player of the Year. Upon his graduation from Franklin County, he entered Kemper Military College in Booneville, Missouri, known as the West Point of the West. At Kemper, he was a member of the football team and earned an associate degree in Business Administration in 1988. Lyni loved life and life loved Lyni. Lyni was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, Pap Paw, and friend. He was an anchor to the people he loved, provided for, and protected. Family was the most important part of his life and he rarely missed an opportunity to laugh and fellowship with family. He had an awesome personality, amazing smile, and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a work ethic second to none. In addition to his Mother, a niece Darian Gray precedes him in death. Lyni’s legacy will be fondly cherished by sisters Diane Gray Leslie and Sherry Denise Gray, of Winchester, Tennessee; brothers Jesse Gray of Whitehouse, Tennessee; and Eric (Lori) Gray of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also cherishing his memory are Monica Green, a loving step daughter; six grandchildren: Joseph and McKinzy Humphres, Leiona and Alex Dodson, Kyra Pace, and Tony Platt, Jr., all of Manchester, Tennessee. Additional family includes four nieces, three nephews, five great nieces, two great nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday July 13th, 2019 from 2-3 with the funeral service following on Saturday at 3 p.m. Services will be conducted from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home.
