Carolyn Frances (Bishop) Osteen

Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Carolyn Bishop Osteen, age 81 of Estill Springs.  Mrs. Osteen passed from this life July 8, 2017 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.  A native of Lyles, TN in Hickman County, she grew up in Chattanooga and later settled in Franklin County with her husband.  She attended Middle Tennessee State College and was a member of the Winchester Church of Christ for 45 years.  She worked in the Payroll Department at AEDC for 14 years, retiring in 1996.  Mrs. Osteen was gifted at growing flowers and was said to have the “ultra-green thumb”.  She was also a talented slalom water skier, skiing from Estill Springs all the way to Tim’s Ford Dam and back.  Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren.   She will be remembered for her wonderful Sunday dinners and her enjoyment of the Christmas season, could only be predicted by her desire to play bridge, as well as, her love of traveling with friends and family.  Mrs. Osteen is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert Kenneth Osteen.  She is survived by her sons, Dwight (Annie) Osteen of Franklin, Daryl (Tammie) Osteen of Estill Springs and Dwayne (Casey) Osteen of LaVergne; sister, Linda Hedricks of Arab, AL; brother, Mack (Hildegard) Bishop of Collierville, TX; grandchildren, Valentina, Maria, Marlie, Drew, Knox, Sydney, Gracie, Audrey, Chloe and Lilly Osteen.  The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home Monday July 10, 2017 from 5-8 p.m.  Friends and family will gather for a graveside service at Allen Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Ed Boggess officiating.  Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Osteen, Mike Hallum, Michael Hix, Dan Hart, Josh Barnes and Len Osteen.
