Watson-North Funeral Home is deeply honored to be of   service and ministry to the family of Mr. Stanley “Butch” Kane, age 82 of Sewanee.  Mr. Kane passed away on Friday May 26, 2017  at his home while surrounded by his family.  A Native of Manhattan, NY, he had traveled extensively throughout the United States with his work as a union steel-worker.  He assisted in such famous jobs as the twin towers in Manhattan, Giants Stadium,  and the Delaware Memorial Bridge.  He was a devoted “family man”, often showering his adoring wife with red roses for no special reason at all.  Mr. Kane is preceded in death by his son, Darren Kane; mother, Florence Theresa Pratt and father, Thomas L. Kane and one sister.  He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen Kane; daughters, Stacey Kane of Florida and Jacqueline Kane of Decherd;  sons, Stanley P. Kane II of Hinesville, GA, David William (Danielle) Kane of Charleston S.C.; John Kane of Decherd and Angelo (Laura) Kane of Sewanee; grandchildren, Eric Kane, Christian Kane, Sabrina Kane, Mark Kane, Stan, James Kane, Caraline Kane, Kierston Wright and Breydon Bentley.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening May 28, 2017 at Watson-North Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m.  The funeral service will be conducted from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home on Monday May 29, 2017 at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.watsonnorth.com
