Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Lee Roy Nash, age 85 of Estill Springs.  Mr. Nash passed from this life Friday November 17, 2017 with his family at his bedside.  Mr. Nash was born in Ryland, AL. and later moved to Franklin County.  In the mid-1950’s, Mr. Nash took a job in Illinois with the Inter-Lake Steel Company.  He worked as a crane operator and retired in 1985 following 30 years of service.  Upon his retirement, Mr. Nash returned to Estill Springs where he made his home on the family farm. He was very active in the Estill Springs Volunteer Fire Dept. where he served as a fireman and Safety Officer for more than a decade.  Mr. Nash also served as an Alderman on the Estill Springs Board of Mayor and Aldermen for over 16 years.  He was also a member of the Estill Springs Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons.  He was a member of the Crete Masonic Lodge and the Estill Springs Lions Club.  Mr. Nash is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Louise Thompson Nash; his mother, Audrey Vaughn Nash and father, Frederick Nash; sisters, Ethelene Thompson and Bertha Sublett; brothers, Athel Nash and J.L Nash.  He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Scott) VandenBerg of Manteno, IL; sons, Jerry Nash of Winchester and Dale (Mary) Nash of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jenny (Draper) Davis, Amanda VendenBerg, Fred (Nikki) Nash, Misty (Lincoln) Nash-Brown, Scott (Samantha) McClanahan, Kenneth (Tiffany) Nash, Marilyn (Cameron) Case, Michelle Shelton, Dale (Jo Ann) Nash, Jr. and Rick Nashkoff; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be Sunday November 19, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday November 20, 2017 from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Seals of the Estill Springs Baptist Church officiating.  Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Nash, Dale Nash, Jr., Scott McClanahan, Kenneth Nash, Hayden Davis and Dylan Holt.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Nash III and Triston Brown.   Online condolences may be sent to www.watsonnorth.com.
