Watson-North Funeral Home is deeply honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Larry Joe Rayshell, age 68 of Murfreesboro. Mr. Rayshell passed away Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro. Larry was a man’s man and lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He was an avid fisherman, loved to ride Cutting Horses and was described as being a cowboy to the very core. A native of Hunt County, Texas, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and trained as a sharpshooter on the M-16. He also trained as a Dental Specialist in the Medical Training Corps at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. After his military service, he worked as a union crane operator and traveled throughout the United States constructing roads, bridges and buildings. He lived for a number of years in Germantown, TN and came to Murfreesboro in 1993. He worked in his trade until April of this year when his health began to fail. Preceding him in death are his mother, Wanda Jo Rucker Rayshell and his father, Billie Joe Rayshell; son, Clay Rayshell; great-grandsons, Cash and Jack Foster. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jo Rayshell of Murfreesboro; sister, Debra Rayshell (Michael) Eaton of Danville, IL, daughters, Pennie (Greg) Ferguson and Terrie (Jim) Holland, all of Winchester and Sandy (Greg) Brooks of Murfreesboro; son, Bradley Neal Rayshell of Greeneville, TX; granddaughters, Jodie Campbell, T. J. Neal, Jessie Foster and Madison Brooks; great-grandsons, Andrew and Logan Neal. The family will receive friends Saturday August 19, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday August 20 at 3 p.m. from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park with military honors.
