James William Elliott Jr., aka “Punkin”, departed from this earthly world on June 2, 2017.  It was on this perfect day, the Lord saw fit to grab hold of his son James at his home.   He was born on March 10, 1950 in Winchester to the late James William Ellliott Sr. and Eula Dean Phillips.  James attended Townsend High until integration where he graduated from Franklin County High School in 1969.  As a young man with great work ethics and values, James was hired at TVA where he worked for many years until accepting a job at Arnold Air Force Base working there for 33 years.  James retired October 2013.  On October 18, 2015, he accepted Christ in his life.  He then was baptized on Nov. 1, 2015 at First Missionary Baptist Church, Winchester.

James William Elliott Jr. was preceded in death by his late wife, Lola Jean Elliott, his mother Eula Dean Phillips and father James William Elliott Sr.  To cherish his memories is lovely wife Ira B. Elliott;  stepchildren Christle Hurt (Ollie)- Indianapolis, IN, Brian Mosley- Indianapolis, IN;  children Cary Holman (Rolanda)- Murfreesboro, TN; Michael Maze (Jessica)- Fayetteville, NC; Jamiya Cooper (Jermaine)- Columbia, TN; Johnica Ervin (Mike)- Winchester, TN; Larry Elliott- Winchester, TN; grandchildren Daijeh Gant, Morgan Sims, Brina Mosley, Brianna Mosley, Colin Holman, Yuri, Christian Maze, Aniya Maze, Airyana Maze, Cameron Simmon, Rashaud Cooper, Brayden Cooper, Laila Cooper, Jah’Michael Ervin, Janyia Wilson; Brothers- Buddy Elliott- Winchester, TN;  Jerry Lynn Elliott- Winchester, TN; Sisters- Nadra Thompson- Springfield, Ohio; Patricia Bean (George)- Winchester, TN; and Bernadine Compton (Phillip)- Winchester, TN; Brother-in-law Nathaniel Mosley Jr. (Debra)- Indianapolis, IN.

James William Elliott Jr. will be missed immensely by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, friends, community, and church family- First Missionary Baptist Church. 

No one will ever be able to carry the nickname “Punkin”.
