Cora Mae Carter Hendon, age 71, passed from this life to receive her crown of glory January 19, 2017 at her home with her family at her bedside.  Cora came into this world October 14, 1945 to the late Cora Lee Childress Carter and William Pettice Carter.  In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by husband, Robert James Hendon; sister, Felicia Ann Carter; brothers, William Pettice Carter, Jr., Glen Carter, James Carter and Robert Carter.  To cherish her memory and mourn her departure from this life, she leaves her daughter, Pamela Hendon of Winchester; granddaughters, Briani Elliott and Cordiesha Elliott, both of Winchester; great-granddaughter, Aubriana Harris; devoted nephews, Tyshawn Carter and Dewayne Carter; devoted brothers and sister-in-law, Charles (Frieda) Hendon, Alice Hendon, Mary Winton, Billy Hendon, Neva Johnson and George Hendon; special friends, Annis Childress, Sandra Kay Mastin, Mary Sue Southern, Willy Fuqua and Shauntis Cook and a host of other relatives and friends.  The family will receive friends on Saturday January 28, 2017 at Watson-North Funeral Home from 12 noon until 1 p.m. The life of Cora Hendon will be celebrated in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home on Saturday January 28,2017 at 1 p.m. with Bro. Cary Rowe officiating.  Interment will follow at Asia Cemetery with friends and family members serving as pallbearers.  Online condolences may be sent to www.watsonnorth.com
