Billy Morton Pierce

Watson-North Funeral Home is deeply honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Billy Morton Pierce better known as “the candy man”.  Mr. Pierce passed from this life on December 11, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.  Mr. Pierce was a native of Bedford County and was a 1948 graduate of Bedford County High School.  He made his home in Franklin County for a number of years. He was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church, enjoyed watching westerns, was a talented woodworker and a regular and devout attendee of Saturday morning breakfast with the boys at Krystal.  Mr. Pierce retired from Shaw in 1995 and previously worked at Wilton Industries for many years.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Ellie Jean Overcast Pierce; a son, Ronald Morton Pierce; his mother, Sally Stallings Pierce and his father, William Ross Pierce.  He is survived by his daughters, Angela (David) Sisk of Benton, TN and Regina (Jimmy) Smith of Murfreesboro; son, Anthony “Tony” Pierce of Belvidere; grandchildren, Shane Sisk, Andy (Lesley) Sisk, Heather (Justin) Braden and Brittany Pierce; one great-grandchild, Mila Sisk (the boss).  Visitation will be Friday December 15, 2017 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.  The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Rev Ray Gardner officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelbyville with friends and family serving as pallbearers.  Online condolences may be sent to www.watsonnorth.com.
