Our heavenly father claimed his own Anthony Kelso Bright, Jr. (T J) age 37 of Cowan, on Sunday January 8, 2017 while he was in Palm Bay, FL in attendance of the funeral service of the mother of a friend.  

Born to Lucy Rowe Bright and Anthony Kelso Bright, Sr. on September 3, 1979, Anthony attended Franklin County High School and graduated from the Nashville Auto Diesel College.  T J lived his life to the fullest.  Loving laughter and always enjoying himself, he would always be seen with a bright and uplifting smile on his face.  It was clear to anyone who had a conversation with TJ that he loved the Lord, as he was always a willing witness to the goodness of his Savior.  TJ attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under the leadership of his pastor, mentor and friend, Rev. John Patton. 

TJ is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Rowe Bright and a brother, Quincy Russell.  

To cherish his memory and mourn his untimely passing, he leaves his father, Anthony (Lula) Bright of Tullahoma; daughter, Legend Bright Staten of Cowan; sister, Tessa (Troy) Hill of Winchester; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Darvin Rowe Powell of Winchester; aunt, Karen (Michael) Taylor of Winchester; great-aunts, Mildred Wilson and Mary Louise Vantrease, both of Winchester; great-uncle, Charlie (Gracie) Bright of Atlanta, GA; devoted step-parents, Ralph and Patricia Russell of Cowan; step-sisters, Nina (Ronnie) McGlother and Alice (Thomas) Childress, both of Nashville, Tina (Wendell) Childress of LaVergne; step-brothers, Tommy (Karessa) Childress of Cowan and Mitchell Brown Childress of Decherd; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. 

Also surviving are many devoted friends, Rigina Hill, Nick McGee, Rick McGee, Dorothy (Scott) Staten, Antonio Kennerly, Michael Jo, Ray-Ray Waters, Wendell McFarland, Eric Sutton, Carl Leggett, Jason Morris, Joe Holman, Clement Moore, Oscar Mack, Roy Holman.  He enjoyed a very special bond with his step-grandson, Legend Hill.

The family will receive friends on Saturday January 14, 2017 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. The celebration of TJ's homegoing will commence at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Patton officiating.  Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park.  Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Mayberry, Wendell McFarland, Clement Moore. Ricky McGee, Nick McGee, Jason Morris, Joe Holman, Roy Holman and Richard Hunt.  Flower Bearers will be Julicia Childress, Skyisha Childress, Novaisa Hill, Nyceria Taylor, Kemesha Childress, Felicia Childress and Gabrielle Bailey.

The family of Anthony Bright, Jr. wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the many kind deeds, prayers and other expressions of sympathy shown during this time of grief, mourning and bereavement.  All have been a source of strength and comfort to us and for your support we shall be eternally grateful .
